Green Jobs Alliance Mission

To coordinate the resourcing, training, and associated support for the development of an evolving energy efficiency and renewable energy industries workforce in Alabama with a goal of economic independence for individual workers, including those who seek a pathway out of poverty.

Green Jobs Alliance Purpose

With thousands of Alabamians out of work, the Alliance is presented with a unique opportunity to assist in assembling an education and training infrastructure that will create jobs in our economy, help our citizens become more energy efficient, and protect our environment—all at the same time. Through a collaborative effort with our partners, we are laying the foundation for establishing one of Alabama’s first partnerships as required by the Green Jobs Act to provide education, training and job placement to thousands of Americans. To provide education and training, the Alliance has brought together an extensive and tested network of existing training partners.

Initial Focus

Our initial focus is to establish the infrastructure necessary to implement the Green Jobs Act, that will educate and train individuals in areas of energy efficiency and renewable energy, including our military veterans and those seeking a pathway out of poverty.
